A photographer that I find so inspiring in SOOooOooOooo many ways is Sarah Rhoads. Wow, she is rad. She recently wrote a post I think everyone should read. It was one of those “Here I am” moments that my heart sang into the creative strings of my soul.
Ahhhh-haaaaa.

I was giving my kids a bath tonight and as they played in the bubbles I was reading the ingredients on the label for the bubble bath. Life Brand Fruity Foam Bath, to be exact. Big-ugly-word after big-ugly-word and then the mother of all big-ugly-words… Methylchloroisothiazolinone.
Why are my kids PLAYING IN something that has more letters in it than the entire english alphabet?!
It was like an old school horror movie looking at my kids gleefully playing in a toxic bath MOMMY made. Mommy’s eyes darting from the bottle, to the bath, to their grins, to visions of horrible things.
I think mommy needs to stop by the health food store to get some bubble bath without all these big-bad-words.

Well… if you have met me you may have heard me say I don’t want to get married… but if you were to watch me from afar… you would call me a liar. I read the bridal magazines… it’s research to better serve my clients!!!! I look through bridal websites… again, research.
Well, now you’ll thank me. I am going to add some faves weekly on the blog for you brides prepping for your wedding. Or… you gals who maybe haven’t gotten that ring yet. Or, you “researchers”… like me. IT IS!!![]()
I stumbled upon this site… PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com. Um, radness! I am all about a greener way of living (within reason), and I LOVE thrift store shopping to find that hidden gem. So, if I were a bride, which I’m not, haven’t been, and don’t (sniff) plan (sniff) to be…. you’re wife. I DO! Hee hee hee. Sorry… tangent. If I were a bride I would probably prefer to buy a gently used dress than a new one.
“But Gyl, wouldn’t that limit my choices?”
Maybe… but when there are 4305 dresses for sale on one site… you *might* find something, and at worst, you’ll find some inspiration for what your dream dress could be.
Here are a few of my faves…

(1) Pronovias Donaire. sz 4. (sz 8 tag) $1,000
(2) Jorge Manuel. The Joel. sz 10. $1,275
(3) Vintage Dress. sz 8. $550
I love that they go the extra mile of telling you the tag size vs the “street size”. Like in #1 there. They even give measurements!!
Happy Browsing Brides!
