Trash the Dress : Un.Bridal.ed : Vancouver Wedding Photographys

I did a “trash the dress” session at Spanish Banks a couple months ago and the bride (a fellow photographer from Edmonton) came to me with the intent to get into the water! YES! LOVE IT! And that meant… I was going to be getting wet too. Despite it being June, that water was COLD!!! We had a lot of fun.

I am always happy to be laughed at when it is well deserved.

I had been so busy watching the couple, watching for waves coming towards them, taking pictures and waiting for moments, that the moment this particular wave surprised me with reeeeeeeally cold water up in every little dry spot I had left… I kept shooting through my squeals of surprise.:)

I am always happy to get into the water, or other precarious positions to get a great trash-the-dress or “bridal” shot, and the fall is a GREAT time of year to break that dress of yours back out and take it for some fun! The sun is warm and has a gorgeous glow. Evening. Early morning. In the water, in the trees, in an alley, or a field of warm glowing wheat.

Whether you are up for actually getting that dress dirty, or just looking for some fun, fashionable, or creative photos in it; you took the effort to pick the dress, I will make the effort to get some great shots of you in it!

Lets have some fun! Book today!

Back-to-School SPECIAL : Child & Teen Portraits Vancouver

VANCOUVER TEEN FASHION PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY RHEMBEIN

As I gather up supplies for the childlets to go back-to-school I get excited about the idea of taking them out to golden fields of gritty alleys in the new gear I am getting them. I know how much my daughter loves seeing herself in photos, and as much as that could become a bad thing one day, the self esteem it gives her to bravely charge into a new grade with new kids and make new friends is worth it to me.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL Child & Teen Portraits (pre-school aged and up)

Starting @ only $100!!

Book now for your session. Sessions available beginning August 24th.

Dates are filling fast, so book now!!!!

Or should I say sneak peep-toe?!? Aren’t these shoes SO CUTE!? One of my most fashionable brides yet had THE cutest Kate Spade Carly sequin pumps as her shoe of choice. I just had to share! She is a fan of the popular website Style Me Pretty and it showed!! I can’t wait to share more of their amazingly stylish wedding party!!

Fort Langley : Vancouver Wedding Photography

Shortly before the wedding season swallowed me up, I had this very fun engagement session in scenic Fort Langley.

I am fortune enough (thanks to Facebook) to have reconnected with many people that I grew up with and went to high school with, and this gorgeous and joyous woman is one of them. We went to high school together and not only am I fortunate enough to have shot her cousin’s wedding last summer in beautiful Sechelt, shortly after that I got an excited message her letting me know that she was newly engaged, and I would be shooting her’s as well! Yaay!

I was not only happy for them both, but excited that I could be involved in such a special and intimate way on their wedding day!

Here is a peek at their engagement session, and as you will see, they are an extremely fun and loving couple!

Capilano Golf & Country Club : Vancouver Wedding Photography

Recently I had a wedding at another golf course that I hadn’t been to yet. Bahare and Serge’s wedding at the Capilano Golf & Country Club was as gorgeous as the award winning location it’s self. The ceremony was held out on the deck of the Clubhouse, which sits nestled in a dramatic tree filled hillside where the city peeks at you between the trees. The golden chair wraps went perfectly with the noon sun during the ceremony, and the natural breeze was the perfect balance to the sunshine. Their reception decor was elegant with fluffy white ostrich plumes towering above the tables, and simple black, white and golden yellow accents.

One thing I must caution you all about… the food. The food at Capilano is DELICIOUS!! Oh my goodness!!! They brought some yummy chicken and 2 different types of heavenly prawns out during the portrait portion of the day and because I was always busy shooting, I didn’t get nearly as many as I would have liked.:)

Bahare and Serge are one of those couples that ooze love for eachother! You can feel their passion for each other and see the fun they have together. It was a pleasure to get to know them on their engagement session and an honour to be involved in their wedding day.

The veil-over-the-couple’s-heads-shot is a shot I would never ask a couple to do, I shy away from doing things “everyone is doing” because then it isn’t specific to the couple and comes off as cheesey. IMHO. But when this bride pulled it over her groom in the middle of a shoot, and they slipped into their own private and tender world, I couldn’t help but *click*. To me it summed up what I am at a wedding to do; capture the couple and who they are, and put my artistic spin on it.

There seems to be a recurring theme in most of my photoshoots; whether it be out-and-about during a fun portrait shoot, or during the wedding day portrait shoot, I seem to always have awesome props come to me. Rad bike ‘eh?!

Excuse me, do you mind if we take some pictures on your ridiculously expensive custom bikes?!

In case you are wondering, yes, that is a red metallic flake paint job! Bling, bling!

… and yes, those are our cars pulled over in the back ground so we could get these shots on the side of the road!!
